Why Multi-Directional Layups?
We use three different high performance carbon fibers in S4 rods and each is laid up at a different angle. This means your S4 rods track true for greater accuracy, and smoothly transfer power from your cast to the line.

Scott S4 fly rods are the choice for high performance freshwater fishing. Need to nymph in the morning, fish a hatch midday with dries, then finish off with streamers in the deep pools at last light? This is the rod for the job.

The S4 handles a wide range of fly sizes with plenty of power and line speed, balanced with enough sensitivity to fish the small bugs on light tippet.

S4 rods feature components like titanium guides and buckeye burl wood, paired with Scott touches like alignment dots and measuring wraps that add up to the world's best freshwater fly rods.

S4 904

Designed and tested on the Henry's Fork with the help of our pro staffer Rene Harrop, the S4 904 two piece delivers flies accurately at a variety of distances. The fast recovery of the tip allows for precise reach and curve casts in the most challenging situations.

S4 905

You won't often see this two piece 5 weight stowed in the rod racks of your guide's drift boat. This rod is the workhorse of the S4 line. Double tungsten nymphs under and indicator? No problem. Hoppers on the banks in high winds? Of course. PMD's in the riffles? Bring it on.

S4 906

The 2 piece 6 weight is the go-to streamer and nymph rod in the S4 lineup. With a slightly faster action than the 4 piece model, the 906 has the power to turn over multi-nymph rigs under large indicators and throw sink tips with authority.

S4 803/4

The 8 foot 3 weight S4 was built for rock hopping small freestones and turning over small dries in the wind-swept valleys that hold some of the West's most beautiful native fish. The 803/4 generates line speed to deliver quick, accurate casts, balanced with the sensitivity to fish at close range.
This rod uses a slightly shorter and thinner in diameter than our standard Trout Western, allowing for lighter weight and superior feel.

S4 804/4

A short but powerful four weight that has touch at close range and quick recovery to generate line speed for medium range casting. The 804/4 is well-suited for single dries and nymphs as well as lightly weighted dry/dropper rigs.

S4 854/4

Quick, sensitive, and light in the hand, the 854/4 is right at home in small and medium size rivers with small and medium-sized dries and lightly weighted nymphs. Superior feel and tippet protection make this a great choice for technical fishing in smaller waters.

S4 855/4

The 8'6" five weight S4 loads at closer range than the nine foot five weight S4, making this rod well-suited to fishing small to medium size freestones. The 855/4 will comfortably fish both dries and larger nymphs.

S4 903/4

We designed the S4 903/4 for small, technical tailwaters. The 903/4 generates wind-fighting line speed and delivers with incredible delicacy. The 9 foot length allows for superior line control, and its tip can protect the lightest of tippet.

S4 904/4

You'll find an S4 904/4 in the back of almost every vehicle in our parking lot.Yes, it's that good
This is our favorite rod for our local waters where a 5 weight tends to be a little too much. If you're going to fish larger streamers or heavy double nymph rigs, you'll be better off with a 5 weight.

S4 905/4

Truly an all-purpose fast-action 5 weight. The S4 905/4 can turn over big flies or 16 foot dry fly leaders over a wide range of fishing distances. A powerful butt section paired with a sensitive tip can handle anything you'd consider casting with a 5 weight, and even some things you shouldn't.

S4 906/4

The S4 906/4 excels at delivering large and wind-resistant flies at longer distances, while offering a tip sensitive enough to protect tippet on explosive hopper takes.

S4 907/4

Quick and accurate with power to spare, the 907/4 is a great streamer rod that handles heavy nymphing with ease. Its sensitive tip protects tippet and keeps you in contact with the fly to detect subtle takes

S4 908/4

The S4 9 foot 8 weight has the tippet protection and mending abilities you won't find in our S4s 8 weight. The S4 generates the line speed needed to turn over larger flies and loads at closer range. Unlike our saltwater 8 weights, the S4 has smaller diameter stripping guides and a hook keep.
Perfect for silver and chum salmon, large trout, and heavy warmwater use. A great crossover saltwater rod if you spend the majority of your time in freshwater.

S4 956/4

The specialist streamer and nymph rod, the S4 956/4 is the rod to reach for when you're fishing deep. Superb line control for long distance mending, and the power to deliver the "you can't be serious" nymph rigs.

S4 957/4

Designed to handle both streamer and nymph fishing with large flies, the 957/4 offers great line control at distance balanced with a strong butt section to turn hard-fighting fish

S4 958/4

The rod of choice for large anadromous fish. Paired with a long-belly line, this rod excels at long distance roll casting and mending. A strong butt section with a tip that is able to protect tippet during wild fights with big fish.

S4 1004/4

The rod for nymphing specialists. If you fish high stick nymph techniques like Czech or French styles, this is the tool. Light enough to hold out all day with a sensitive tip for quick positive hook sets.

S4 1005/4

A great rod for nymphing, fishing from a pram or float tube, and high sticking. The longer length helps control line drag and makes roll casting very easy.

S4 1006/4

A favorite rod for stillwater fishing, and for half pounders or grilse. This rod handles sinking and floating lines, long leaders and multi fly rigs with ease.

S4 1007/4

A top choice for salmon and steelhead fishing with floating and intermediate lines. Very smooth with single hand spey casts and long roll casts, this rod also helps manage line and fly speed for perfect swings.

S4 1008/4

Our favorite single hander for swinging flies. This rod roll casts and single hand speys very well, and has the power for longer casts and big bright fish.
